Detailed information
The Manor on the Monnow offers an elegant group escape in the historic town of Monmouth, birthplace of King Henry V. Set on the banks of the River Monnow, this baroque manor is just a 10-minute walk from Monmouth Castle and the independent shops, cafés, and pubs that earned the town a place among the Sunday Times’ top three UK locations to live. With gated grounds at the end of a quiet lane, guests enjoy peace and privacy.
Sleeping up to 24 guests plus two infants, the manor features 11 bedrooms, nine with private bathrooms. Two ground-floor twin rooms offer easy access, one ensuite and one with a nearby shower. The Great Hall with a wood burner sets the tone for relaxed evenings, while the bright dining room seats everyone for shared meals. A fully equipped kitchen, breakfast room, and TV lounge ensure comfort and convenience. Leisure options include a games room with table tennis, pool, and table football, and a riverside hot tub. The two-acre fenced grounds include outdoor seating, a barbecue area, and direct river access for swimming, fishing, and walks.
Note: A £500 security bond is payable and refunded within 10 days of departure, subject to any damages. Arrival is from 4:00 pm and departure by 10:00 am. Parking is available at guests’ own risk, and campervans, tents, or marquees are not permitted without prior approval. Please leave the house tidy; additional cleaning or admin costs may be deducted if necessary. Lost property and key replacements incur charges, and we accept no liability for loss or injury unless caused by our negligence. Electric car charging is available at the Manor for a fee. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. The hot tub can be used from 9am to 10pm only, and misuse, noise, or poor hygiene may lead to closure or extra charges.
