Wood End Cottage enjoys a quiet and peaceful location on the edge of the village of Slaithwaite and is within easy reach of the M62 motorway (junction 23, 3 miles) and both Manchester airport (39 miles) and Leeds Bradford airport (24 miles) Local attractions such as Summer Wine Country and the Peak District National Park are close by and Huddersfield, with its vibrant night life, shops and state-of-the-art swimming pool complex is only 4 miles away. Surrounded by fields and with stunning views over the Colne Valley this lovely cottage is an idyllic base for your holiday and ideal for walking, cycling, birdwatching, painting, photography or just enjoying a relaxing break.
Outside you can relax on the private decking area which has lounger chairs and a table. There is also a table and chairs on the terrace for outdoor dining. Private on-site parking is provided for one car.
There are two floors with a double and a single bedroom and a bathroom on the first floor. The double room features a four poster bed, wardrobe and chest, the single room has a period style single bed, built in wardrobe and chest. The bathroom is equipped with a bath tub with shower over, toilet and wash basin.
The open plan ground floor has a three-seater sofa, open fire, flat screen TV, DVD and CD players, a dining table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen with electric stove, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, fridge with freezer compartment and a washing machine.
The property enjoys solid fuel central heating in all rooms and there are also back-up electric heaters available.
The landlord lives on site in the farmhouse and will greet you at the property to give you your keys and get you settled in. We are always pleased to help you with any questions, advice on excursions, local eateries, shopping or walks in the surrounding countryside, details of which are always kept in the cottage for your convenience.
Wood End Cottage is set in lovely countryside above Slaithwaite which will delight walkers - we provide detailed maps of some of the best local walks. Slaithwaite itself is home to several lovely restaurants and cafes. It has a range of shops including a Co-op, Aldi, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and greengrocer. The Peak District National Park, Summer Wine Country, and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park are an easy drive away. Our nearest town, Huddersfield, is just five miles away and has theatres, pubs and clubs, the Kingsgate shopping centre and a new state-of-the-art leisure centre featuring a children's splash pool.
Wood End Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed property set in the glorious rolling hills of West Yorkshire. It boasts a wealth of period features with beamed ceiling. four poster bed and open fire providing a cosy base for your holiday or short break. The well-equipped kitchen and private herb garden will delight the cook or treat yourself to a meal in one of the high class local restaurants.

Payment terms and -periods
After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
