About the accommodation
The authentic stone house was built by hand by the original owner Nonno Milton using traditional granite construction methods. With its little nooks and crannies, it exudes the charm that the people of Ticino love so much. Here you live in the middle of nature, right on the edge of the forest, where you might even spot a small forest dweller. Anyone who appreciates unspoilt nature will find a place of tranquillity here. In the cooler months, a fresh breeze blows through the unplastered stone walls, which you can quickly banish from your bones by the crackling fireplace or stove. There is no electric heating - just warmth, silence and authenticity.

Room layout
The cosy living area with sitting area and open kitchen is located on the ground floor. Upstairs is the wood-panelled bedroom with a double bed and a double sofa bed that can be used as an extra bed. The rustico also has two bathrooms, so there is plenty of space for several guests.

Location and connections
The house is situated on a sunny, quiet hillside above the municipality of Cavergno. The village centre with post bus stop, butcher's shop, bar and pizzeria is a five-minute walk away. Locarno is around 30 minutes away by car. Hiking trails through the Maggia Valley start right on the doorstep, and the surrounding area offers grottos, village markets and excursions to Cevio or Locarno.

Activities and experiences
The region offers a wide range of possibilities: Walks through pristine forests, climbing tours along impressive natural walls or hikes to thundering waterfalls and clear natural lakes. Those interested in culture can visit the Walserhaus Museum, while cyclists can enjoy the route through the Maggia Valley to Locarno. If you spend the day at the house, you can enjoy quiet moments in the sunshine on the seating area or immerse yourself in a good book in front of the fireplace in the evening.

Payment terms and -periods

After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
