Discover our charming alpine hut with Säntis view on the Alp Ell, situated in the idyllic moorland of the Rietbach in picturesque Toggenburg. This fully furnished hut can accommodate up to 10 guests and is ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a break in nature without missing out on the comforts of home.
The interior of our hut offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has an electric cooker with oven, fridge with freezer compartment and a cosy wood-burning stove. Comfortable nights are provided by a Keihütten bed in one room and three beds and a dormitory mattress in the other room. The mattresses provided are covered with fitted sheets, woollen blankets are available - you bring your own sleeping bags and pillows. The recently renovated bathroom is equipped with a spacious shower, and entertainment is also provided thanks to a radio. Furthermore, you will find a large table with a corner bench and a cosy sofa in the living room, next to a fully equipped kitchen with enough crockery for all guests.
Outside the hut, you will find an inviting seating area with a bench set and barbecue area - the perfect place to enjoy the view and the fresh mountain air. The hut, situated at 1100 metres above sea level, is surrounded by meadows and forest and offers a magnificent view of the Säntis and Speer. The surrounding meadows are farmed organically by us, the Schmid family, with suckler cow husbandry. The cows and calves spend the summer on a high alp in the Glarnerland and on the Unter Bächen alp in Ebnat Kappel. Organic meat and flour can be purchased directly from the farm.
The surrounding area offers a wide range of activities for nature and sports lovers. The moorland path leads right past our hut and invites you to enjoy exciting barefoot experiences. A stopover at the Wolzenalp restaurant with its large playground is also highly recommended. Whether it's an easy hike or a challenging mountain tour on the Speer - the varied surroundings offer numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. Mountaineering, ice skating, mountain biking, skiing (alpine), cross-country skiing and much more awaits sports enthusiasts in the surrounding area. In the winter months from December to March, the hut can be reached by chairlift from Krummenau. From the mountain station, it is 300 metres straight ahead to the hut on Alp Ell. The railway offers a luggage transport service from the mountain station to the hut for CHF 30. Please note that the last ascent with the chairlift in the winter months is at 4.00 pm. If your arrival time is outside the opening hours of the cable car, we offer transport from Krummenau to 500 metres from the hut for CHF 30 per journey if possible. The rest is on foot.

Payment terms and -periods
After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
