In summer, wonderful hikes, bike tours, climbing gardens, horse riding excursions, tobogganing, a visit to the National Park, impressive trips on the Bernina and Glacier Express, helicopter tours, carriage rides, boat trips, a leisurely stroll through one of the Italian markets (Chiavenna, Livigno, Tirano), as well as in Poschiavo or the famous Laret market every second Thursday in Pontresina.
In winter, inspiring winter hikes, cross-country skiing tours, guided snowshoe or ski tours, horse riding excursions, a visit to the National Park Centre, adventure trips on the Bernina or Glacier Express, full moon trips on the Rhaetian Railway to Alp Grüm, helicopter tours, shopping in glittering St. Moritz.

Location description: Zernez and Brail - the gateway to the national park. Ideal starting point for exploring the border triangle of Switzerland, Italy and Austria.
The undisputed number one attraction, however, is the 170.3 square kilometre Swiss National Park, the largest nature reserve in the country. In winter, however, it lies under a deep blanket of snow and gives visitors the cold shoulder. However, the visitor centre with its fantastic multimedia exhibition is also open in winter.
Summer: Zernez and Brail are not only fascinating as a gateway to the national park, but also with authentic Engadine architecture and lifestyle and an excellent tourist infrastructure: with the attractively designed family and wellness pool, the mini-golf course, the children's playground and the large campsite, they offer the best conditions for an eventful holiday. There is an impressive network of hiking trails, cycle paths and bike trails on the outskirts of the village.
Winter: The friendly Engadin communities are also a tranquil starting point for the region's large ski areas. And the cross-country ski trails start right on the doorstep, leading into the vastness of the Upper Engadine, down into the wild and romantic Lower Engadine and around Zernez/Brail. Those who like it particularly natural can book a guided snowshoe tour, for example on the Ofen Pass. While the Munt Baselgia toboggan run, the artificial ice rink and the unique natural ice rink provide variety of a more lively kind. The magic carpet at Costetta in Zernez transports young skiers to skiing fun free of charge and the free ice stock fun on the natural ice rink in Brail is just as exciting.
