Detailed information
Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.
Car park: The car park is located directly next to the house under an arbour and is covered.
Public transport: A bus runs from Kehrsatz railway station to Zimmerwald Post, then the last 950 metres are on foot.
Number of persons 4: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house can accommodate four guests (plus baby). There is a double bed (140/200) in room 1 and two single beds (90/200) in room 2. The living/dining room and kitchen are on the 1st floor. A mini-bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin was installed at a later date. A steep staircase leads to the 2nd floor, where the two bedrooms are located. The floors are made of wood, which is why we recommend good slippers.
Garden: The hamlet of Zimmerwald is surrounded by beautiful nature and there are various opportunities to linger around the house.

Open: The house can be rented all year round.
Pets: Not allowed.
Altitude: 800 metres above sea level.
Other living room equipment: In the living room there is a dining table with six wooden chairs. There is also a sofa and a sandstone stove in the living room. A high chair is available on request.
Other bedroom furnishings: There are two bedrooms in total. One with a double bed (140 cm) and one with two beds. A cot is available on request.
Other kitchen equipment: The kitchen is equipped with three hobs. All necessary utensils and sufficient crockery are available. A moka for the hob is at your disposal. You will need ground coffee for this. Fondue and raclette set available.
IMPORTANT ADDITION
The Ofenhausstöckli is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is modern, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. In particular, the steep staircase to the upper floor and the low parapets at some of the windows should be noted. The tenants are aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal disclaim any liability.

Payment terms and -periods
After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
