Detailed information
The cosy chalet is in a prime location. Your starting point for great hikes in the wonderful mountain world around Axalp as well as for snow sports of all kinds or simply a cosy place to relax.
The chalet is located on the family-friendly Axalp (1500 metres above sea level) above Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland. Only 50 metres from the ski slope.
In summer, Chalet Birki has two car parks directly below the property, in winter you can rent the garage for a small fee. Arrival by public transport is possible. The chalet is a 2-minute walk from the Axalp sports railway bus stop.
You rent a furnished 4.5 room holiday home (non-smoking / no pets) on the Axalp.
- 1 bedroom "Alpchrome" with double bed (140 x 200 cm) on the ground floor (usually remains locked)
- 2 rooms on the upper floor with sloping ceilings, each with 2 double beds (200 x 200 cm).
- Only 2 rooms are rented, one remains locked!
- Possibly an emergency bed or a baby travel cot on request.
The bathroom has a shower/WC, washbasin and a shower cubicle. Of course our hairdryer is at your disposal.
In the living/dining room there is a fireplace with pellets for cosy warmth. You can relax on the upholstered suite, TV armchair with stool. And if you want to watch TV from the dining table with corner bench and three chairs, our LED flat-screen TV can be swivelled. In addition to a DAB nostalgia radio on the living room furniture, you will find numerous board games under the corner bench.
Our chalet is regularly lived in and therefore has everything you need to feel at home and relax in everyday life.
Excursion possibilities: Giessbach Falls and Giessbach funicular railway (the oldest funicular railway in the whole of Switzerland), Schnitzlerweg to Hinterburgseeli, Muggestutz on Hasliberg, Brienzer Rothorn, Ballenberg open-air museum, Aare Gorge, Gelmerbahn, Jungfrau Joch, Schilthorn and much more.

Other kitchen equipment (kitchen1): Kitchen open to the living room, incl. coffee machine (Nespresso), special tea machine, milk frother, toaster, blender, hand blender, kettle, fondue caquelon, raclette oven, fridge incl. freezer compartment, ceramic hob with 4 hotplates, crockery and cutlery for 8 people. The most common spices and washing-up liquid are available.

Payment terms and -periods
After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
