You can easily explore the city center on foot, passing striking sights along the way. Such as the Oldehove: the leaning tower that is sometimes compared to the Tower of Pisa, the Waag: the old city gate and weighing house or the Blokhuispoort: the old prison. As European Capital of Culture 2018, we are rich in museums, festivals and art galleries.

THE APPARTMENT - is located in part of the old hay barn of the Taniaburg farm, located on the north side of Leeuwarden and surrounded by the peaceful Leeuwarder Bos. This offers a unique combination of nature and silence, while the city and its facilities remain within easy reach. The apartment is suitable for two people and is located on the west side of the farm, with a private entrance and a sheltered terrace to enjoy the outdoors.
Inside you will find a cozy sitting area, a fully equipped open kitchen and a bathroom. The spacious bedroom with a comfortable double bed and linen cupboard is located on the loft. The apartment is fully and stylishly furnished, with modern amenities such as WiFi and television. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker (for filter coffee), an electric kettle and a combination oven, so you can fully organize your stay yourself.
Linen, towels and kitchen towels are provided, and you can also use a washing machine, which is centrally located in the shed (for a fee). Parking is possible in the adjacent parking lot of the campsite. In short, the apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with nature and the city within reach.

RECREATION – There is something to do for everyone in and around Taniaburg, whether you like peace, nature or active recreation. Of course you can enjoy the peace and nature around Taniaburg, and take a wonderful walk in the Leeuwarder Bos. But there are many more options to spend your time:
• Fishing: Cast a line in the lake or one of the other bodies of water in the area and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. (fishing license required)
• The Frisian Eleven Cities: Leeuwarden itself is of course the start and end point of this legendary skating tour. But the other 10 cities are also worth a visit, perhaps you will find the enchanting fountain in each city?
• Explore Friesland: take your bike or car and explore a large part of Friesland. Visit the Planetarium in Franeker or the area: the Wadden Sea, both designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Payment terms and -periods

After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
