The old restored stone house is surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean plants, amidst the Parco delle Madonie, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Italy. The house was built in 1800 and last renovated in 2005.

This idyllic spot lies below the Madonie mountains, surrounded by olive trees and other Mediterranean plants. The green garden is like an oasis of tranquility where you can switch off. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the cosy hammock and read a book from the library. There is also a balcony. Three private parking spaces can be used free of charge. Pets are allowed on request.

The ca. 60m² quarrystone house has a built-in kitchen on the lower floor, equipped with an oven, stove, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, coffee machine and a dining space for up to four people. In the same room there is a comfortable sofa that can be converted into a bed for two people, along with a fireplace and a CD player. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. The upper level is accessed up open stairs and has a double bed (180cm wide). The house has plenty of private space all around, which is open on all sides so you can look out at the Mediterranean landscape. There is a library with a wide choice of literature and art books. On hot days, you can use a portable fan. The main house has a washing machine you can use for a fee.

The property is 4km from Castelbuono, a popular village with a wonderfully restored castello, its ancient and contemporary exhibitions and a very special baroque chapel. On the piazza and elsewhere you can get irresistible ice cream. There are little bars and very good trattorias, renowned for their slow food. It is ideal for walking, cycling and relaxing. Here you can find a bakery, a supermarket and a butcher.

The owner lives 20 metres away in the main house. She has been living in Sicily for 20 years and knows a lot about the region and the people, can provide advice about beautiful walking paths and hidden places, as well as unknown products such as manna, a natural sweet substance that you can only get here, and about typical plants, wild vegetables, culture, cuisine and the people here in the countryside an from this vibrant and charming village Castelbuono. She is a passionate cook and can visit her favourite shops and cheese producers (ricotta and pecorino) with guests. She offers guests breakfast and delicious dinners. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen, but is ten metres from the main house.

After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
