Our romantic half-timbered house is located in the textile village Großschönau in the beautiful Upper Lusatia. Situated directly in the floodplain of the wild and romantic Mandau and in the border triangle Saxony - Czech Republic - Poland. Großschönau is one of the most beautiful villages in Upper Lusatia and is the gateway to the Zittau Mountains Nature Park. With an extensive ensemble of historic half-timbered houses, our small community is an open-air refuge of a special kind. There are marvellous houses and a romantic landscape to discover everywhere. Our holiday home is located directly on the Mandau, a small river whose rushing waters are balm for the soul. From the house you can go on countless walks and hikes, e.g. along the Mandau, many paths are straight and therefore suitable for all ages of people and animals. The Sissi holiday home was built in 1790 as a classic half-timbered house. The former weaving room (log parlour) is now the living room. All bedrooms are located in the attic, which is accessible via a newly installed, yet steep staircase (which is still easily accessible). The house was extensively renovated after the flood in 2010 and completely renovated and modernised again from June 2020 to June 2021. The bathroom was also redesigned in 2020 and an indoor whirlpool was added. Please note the ceiling height of 2.00 m in the entire house!!! The house "Sissi" is completely powered by green electricity and can be occupied all year round. We also installed a completely new, ultra-modern and environmentally friendly electric heating system from Wibo in 2020. Your stay with us is completely environmentally friendly and climate-neutral. Both bedrooms and the living room have their own TV with DVD player, in the living room you will also find a video player and a variety of interesting DVD and video films The ideal occupancy is 4-5 people, alternative sleeping possibility in the living room. Dogs are welcome. The property is traditionally very small for historic Umgebindehäuser, the rear area of the house is completely fenced and paved, but not really larger than a large terrace, 45 square metres in size. Our guests also have a 2 to 3-person outdoor whirlpool and an outdoor barrel sauna at their disposal, in the house itself there is an infrared sauna (heat cabin up to 65 degrees, inside: 1.20 m x 1 m) and a 1-2 person whirlpool in the bathroom.

After the booking confirmation, you must make a deposit equal to 20% of the total rental amount within 10 days. The second payment must be paid no later than 42 days before you leave. If you leave within six weeks, you must pay down the full amount immediately.
