In the surrounding area, excursions to the Rappbode Dam with its spectacular suspension bridge, to the half-timbered town of Wernigerode with its castle or to Quedlinburg (UNESCO World Heritage Site) are well worthwhile. The treetop walk in Bad Harzburg and the Rammelsberg mine near Goslar are also worth a visit. Whether summer or winter - the Harz Mountains offer a variety of experiences at any time of year.
