Excursions to the nearby Czech Republic to Pilsen or Karlovy Vary are worthwhile destinations. Water enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the lake district near Wackersdorf: here you can go sailing, swimming, diving or pedal boating. From the world's largest wooden adventure sphere on Lake Steinberg you have a marvellous panoramic view.
